NEW!! TRANSLATORS AND RESEARCH EXPERTS AVAILABLE IN RESOURCE ROOM!!
An exciting new research tools is planned for the mini-conference. Translators and Research Experts will be available in the Resource Room for assistance. Attendees will have the opportunity to get foreign language material translated and "Experts on Site" will be available to help knock down those brick walls.
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED Contact Natalie and Dr. Marv Hamburg hamburg@jgspalmbeachcounty.org
This plan is based on experts volunteering to serve for a short time (one hour or less) in the resource room. We expect to have several translators and working experts and no one will be over-worked. Volunteers will earn the gratitude and respect of the JGSPBCI. Please notify Natalie & Marv as soon as possible, as they are anxiously waiting to hear from all experts in researching techniques, geographic areas, and foreign languages-- Hebrew, Yiddish, German, Polish, Russian, etc.
Several changes have been made to the original concept, initiated 5 years ago, including: lower fee, shorter hours, innovative programming, and concurrent lectures. Further plans are being formulated for all sessions.
NEW!! Morning and afternoon lecture sessions for Intermediates and Advanced Researchers in separate classrooms. We will be using multiple rooms for lectures as well as the Beifield Auditorium.
NEW!! Morning Session for Beginners. Beginners Workshop: 10 AM – Noon with Phyllis Kramer, V.P. of Education JewishGen, Inc. (the primary Internet source for research of Jewish Genealogy) who will present a 1½ hour lecture, "The Aleph Bet of Jewish Genealogy - where do you begin - the Where, How and Why".
Concurrent with Ms. Kramer's presentation will be two lectures on advanced topics in other class rooms.
We're looking forward to seeing Beginners and Intermediates - and all our members who hope to pick up important bits of genealogical information to help put their family search puzzle pieces together!
